About

Hi, I’m Tonya.

I’m an instructional designer with work experience in both corporate and educational environments. I emphasize analysis of needs, outcomes evaluation, and adult learning theory in my work process.

When designing instruction, it’s easy to fall back into old habits that emphasize the information we believe is important to learners. Most of us have been subjected to boring, information-dump training. I break that cycle by focusing attention on changing learner behaviors through activities that are relevant to their immediate needs. Nobody is better at their job solely because of what they know; we reach our professional goals because of what we do!

In eLearning development, I enjoy combining analytic knowledge with artistic skill to create dynamic projects that solve business problems.

What I do:

  • Analyze

Collaboratively conduct a needs analysis to identify the problems your business is facing and determine the most effective training solution.

  • Design

Based on the needs analysis, design the best possible learning experience for the end users using targeted strategies and methods.

  • Evaluate

Conduct formative and summative evaluations to measure learner perceptions, acquisition of new skills, and the resulting job performance.
